Hello all, I have new authority and I am wanting to self dispatch. I know there is a limited number of brokers & shippers etc, that will work with new authorities.
Any pointers on load boards to use, negotiating tips, and things to look for or to make sure I have before/during/after hauling a load for a broker. All opinions welcome. Thanks!

A couple brokerages that worked with me when I was new were CH Robinson and Ryan Transportation. I also did some with California Overland. They all let me book on day one. DAT worked great for me as well to call on loads and get to discover good brokerages. To save time the first question you need to ask is “do you require X amount of authority?” That saved me a lot of wasted breath up until the 3-6 month period.

DAT works fine for me, TQL mainly but It’s just to get me back to the LTL company i mainly haul for, i can’t see dealing with a board day in and day out (or giving up profit to a dispatch company)
