I know Landstar, Mercer, Sammons,Schneider and Farm2fleet allow their owner operator's to choose their own loads. Are there any other companies that use the self dispatch system?

If you don't mind covered wagon work Mawson & Mawson out of Langhorne, PA let me pick my loads when I was leased there. You also get the added benefit of working with a company that's been in the transportation industry since 1895.

Well crst should be a given, there's a thread on eagle on the forum, I had a good friend run for them made it one month and turned the truck in because he wasn't making any money, also there idea of booking your own freight you have to have be aprroved before you can choose anything, I've heard little good about them, im with SNI choice, so far im loving it, no dispatcher all the loads are on a load board I pick my own and drive when I want, freedom is priceless

Yes CRST is a given, honestly as for eagle, I am pretty sure your friend didn't do things right to begin with. I have friends there quite successful. I also follow the thread that's ongoing.
As for your orange pumpkin choice to each they own. Choosing your own and only going where you want is ok, myself I prefer not turning anything down and going everywhere.
It's ok to be biased toward what you do. Just don't think it's the be all get all sweet bed of roses

My point is this, just because your "friend" couldn't hack it, doesn't make it bad. I know a few at pumpkin that quit after a week. Doesn't make me think less of it. Just drivers all around with no business sense. Some win, some lose.

Exactly, everyone is different and what works well for someone may not work for another person. I've always felt like that, I persoanlly love dispatching myself and not being told where to go and when to do it, I also know alotta guys would rather just have a dispatcher do it, that's why in truxking there is no perfect job...only jobs that fit the driver perfectly

Also if anyone fails at a self dispatch system that isn't set up for the driver to fail, has nobody to blame but his/her self. Some get it some don't

Arkansas, drvrtech77 and Lonesome Thank this.

How does choice compare to landstar ?
Are the rates similar for both boards?
Landstar pays 72% as I recall , what does choice pay?
Going in as a new driver for schnieder , how long would it take to lease on to the choice board?

Lanstar is 65% I beleive, and if you work for SNI you need 6months, if your with an outside carrier it's 1 year.
