I just want to say, I full support self driving ( I have a Tesla myself ) but I also don’t think we will see it in our life nor will I ever see it in my line of work ( oilfield )

It would be feasible In the southern states and up north in the summer but as soon as winter happens or chains are needed it will go out the door.

I’m also worried about cyberdyne systems model T101’s that will be running amok soon, as long as we are referencing sci-if movies and pretending that is really what will happen. (Actually those are a better idea than trucks with no driver.)

Yes, because lane keeping is so advanced... Look, it took 10 years of focused research to get a vehicle that can stay in it's lane and not hit the vehicle in front of it. And this is simply nothing else than the Colorado beer run a couple years back. 100 miles on a very well defined route.

In another 10 years we might even get a truck that can do that in the rain.

Proof, what proof are you talking about. They are testing them. They may eventually actually become something hat is actually used, or it could be like billions of dollars of other things tested yearly that eventually gets cut up for scrap iron, so no one else can use what technology that did work.

If that is the case, I am going to go back to running wide open 23 1/2 hours a day, and make all I can before these robots puts me plumb out of business. I already have bought my 3rd eld so I can look legal.

What do you mean "testing them" , mailing robots already have been tested in sorting facilities all over the world simply go watch YouTube videos about it
