Just as good as the invention of the plow and the effects that had to humanity. Make less work for humans frees them to do more advanced things, which is never bad in the long run.

Do a search for "robotics revolution" and start reading. It's pretty clear that that the architects of this brave new world aren't all that concerned about the affects on human beings. Skynet and the matrix are being constructed around us. There is huge money driving this technology. Autonomous vehicles are coming, the big money is not going to give up until they are all that is allowed on the roads. Increased efficiency and safety will be the buzz words to watch for in the days ahead while new laws get passed to slow us down and make us less safe as drivers.

I had hundreds of matchbox and hotwheels toy trucks, built them out of legos, always asked for them at Christmas, etc.
I got into trouble all the way through high school for drawing trucks in class.
I still drew trucks in class in college while learning to drive heavy trucks from veteran drivers rather than a trucking school.
I drove for anyone who'd put me in a truck after I got my CDL at 19, still in college, running 1400-miles over a weekend before getting back to class. Cut out from finals the moment I could to get down to town and pick up a load of rail axles, drove every weekend there was work, every break, every summer.
I graduated with a B.A. in English Lit and I was on the road hauling milk.
I bought my own rig within a year and a half and I'm making a go of being an owner-op.
So, you tell me, do you truly think there's something I'd rather do than drive?scythe08 Thanks this.
