Owner ops don't need them but fleet owners do.
Just imagine a 60% reduction in cost per mile JUST GONE!
That is 60% more money, just hypothetically speaking (and messing with others), I would make more than 26% profit instead of my 10% and pick up those high-paying rates being offered to most of these owners at or below $2 per mile. I and others could make millions.
Money Money MONEY!!!
On top of that, I don't have to hold the hand of drivers to do a pee test, I don't have to deal with a crying driver who got a speeding ticket or ran out of hours, the truck never stops, it means no worries about parking, so my parking costs are reduced to nothing --- MORE MONEY!!
Robots Rule!!!Driverless trucks are going to fit into a niche of this industry, it won't take much or any work for owners and small fleet owners. It may effect the crap drivers and get into a more permanent fleet market for drivers to deal with and shake out the bad ones.
Drivers Drooll!!
GO ROBOTS!
Seriously ...
