I've been self employed since 2014 and been both 1099 IC and I also owned my own business since 2018. I'm going to get my CDL back this summer after taking the last 8 years off from trucking. My question is,how do I show proof of my last 3 years of variable work experience? I do have my last 3 years 1099 and 2019-2021 schedule c for my business (LLC).

    Ten. Ten years.

    Income tax returns.

If someone really wants to split hairs, bank records.

When I started I had been self employed for 12 years. They accepted my tax returns.

The same as filling an application as an employee for someone else.

List your activity for each entity. Don't just say self-employed.

I even had an employer who didn't know when they took over the company. Fed an employer BS. They asked me for my tax records. Accepted.
