Howdy! I've been lurking around for a while but decided it's time to actually get things rolling.

Naturally, employment history and references are required by just about everyone, but I've been self-employed and working from home since 2018. I know lots of people. Virtually. I have no coworkers and almost all friends and clients are online. Let's face it. If I were a social butterfly I wouldn't be considering a job that has me on the road for weeks at a time.

Will this cause a problem when it comes to being accepted by a trucking company? For a variety of reasons, the two I'm currently considering are Prime and Swift. I was looking into Raider Express but they have a weird set-up where they pay for your hotel during the week but you're on your own Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. Strangeness.

Anyway, I have am working part-time at a place, which doesn't know I'm considering a job change. I was there full-time for a couple of years but my side gig started making more money than the FT job. They wouldn't let me switch to part-time so I left. Later, about a year later, I went back because they decided me being part-time was perfectly fine. I've been back there a little over a year now.

Is this going to put me in the 'don't even mess with' folder?

Has any the co. you have been part / timing for giving you a 1099 or W--2 for taxes, if not find a friend you can trust to be your boss man that will give you the three years of work you will need on app. if you were not driving a truck that's all you will need, if you have been driving a truck they will need 10 years of work, dates must match for who ever you worked for the whole 10 years? I got to where I would keep a folder with all police reports on acc. I had been in and all my 1099 forms so if the worst happened and co. was bought out or shut down I could start getting a new driving job on the way home or drive to nearest term. to get hired Fast?

Short of having a DWI, DUI or testing hot on a drug test, your chances are 50-50. The only way to know for sure is to go out and apply. The worse they can do is tell you no.

Have W-2s and check stubs so hopefully that will take care of it.

If you can document what you were doing, you should be ok.

Yea you just need documentation. If you and the neighbor did nothing but play video games for a year. You'll need a notarized statement from the neighbor attesting to that.

If he and "the" neighbor played in other ways, ya think the notarized statement would work there.
Know a guy who might need a ruling on this.

Companies will accept tax records as proof of employment.

Raider Express isn't the only game in town. Plenty of others to choose from.
