Do you think a powerful soap that gets the truck 90-95% clean and not needing a brush for scrubbing would help make it easier?

That's how most commercial washes do it. It's pretty standard to spray everything on and then spray it off. Hence my staunch recommendation for long wands and steaming hot water.

The one I used to use had platforms on each side. That alone made it nice. It’s gone now, The problem with Truck washing is the epa rules for the used water. Recycling it can be costly. That’s what Ive heard anyway. Something to look into before investing

Just about has to be acid. All the power can peel paint, and still not get a dirt film off. Pre soaking with acid is how they get away without brushing, They also use a neutralizer, before rinsing, followed by soap. Anyone washing their Own, probably doesn’t want acid anyway. A soft brush is better. I have my Own brush, better that way. Acid can be bought by the gallon for DIY, along with degreaser. Like brushes, anyone wanting these, can bring their own. Main thing is hot water, soap , high pressure. I have one near home now, no hot water. It’s a useless waste of money.

The touchless soaps work good but are typically 2 part. First very acidic soap the a basic to neutralize the acid. If not used properly can leave some nasty streaks. Or if allowed to dry its bad too. And it strips and wax or ceramic.
