Selling yourself to a Broker

The one doing the selling is the broker.....

 

Be careful of what you wish for.Not anybody with a phone line and a broker mc # is worthy of calling let alone dealing with.A lot of times you will be dealing with the wana be's (maybe another driver that lost his/her CDL or Just a two bit hustler) and you will find the freight that he/she has is nothing more than a stolen load from a load board.I know some of these weasel's that work for big carrier's & they do this for a side kick job. The best answer is to get to know that broker and that takes time and from the way you conduct your self you will find out how you will get treated.if you are the type that wants to be a friend to ALL then you wouldn't mind hauling crap once in a while for your friend do yah? They"Brokers" will assume that for every good load you haul for them you should bend over and take one for the gipper.I don't know how did they come up with this formula but it is there.And most of them use it for example. "BACK HAUL".I wonder if walmart,target, etc. will give you a "back haul" discount @ the checkout register? or your Friendly TA, FJ etc. "Not every broker is worthy of your time & Not every trucker is worthy of dealing with" The world has changed 360 degrees it used to make sense when you heard the words " Ask not what your country can do for you.Ask What you can do for your country ". unfortunately these days if you believe that they call you a Sucker.

 

As others posted be proffesional , be confident and ensure that you do not OVERSELL yourself and UNDERSELL your services , and do not BAD MOUTH the competition
