Depends on your perspective. Safety Director? "Completely preventable, I want to see him hung by his balls with a piano string until dead".
Real world- "I never imagined that a 77,500 lb truck would jacknife because I slowed with the engine brake in the rain". -
Of course its much easier to blame everything on the driver... especially if the name on the side of the truck involves 1) not your carrier, and 2) one with more than 10 trucks. Now if it was a carrier with less than ten trucks or an o/o all y'all would be screaming for the idiot who caused the poor unfortunate driver to crash... to be hung by his balls with piano wire... now wouldn't ya? -
Here is an excellant example of what NOT to do.
A televison interview, explaining what happened in an accident.
Don't trucking still give out accident kits,
that include instructions on what NOT to say.......doubledragon5 Thanks this. -

I love good arguments like this- it's more fun than the Jerry Springer show.
123456 and otherhalftw Thank this. -
Since when did a "jack-knifed" rig plow through a guard rail and launch onto the parallel street?
And why is it that so many believe that jakes "cause" a jack-knife scenario?
I have never seen any evidence that the jakes "cause" any such thing! Lots of rumor, hearsay, horror stories, and the like....but never any actual PROOF.....but I have participated in studies to disprove this hoax....generally promoted by Insurance adjusters and ambulance chaser attorneys!lostNfound Thanks this. -
I've used jakes in snow, and rain..........
otherhalftw, lostNfound and kid_cardiac Thank this. -
