My truck has the adaptive cruise control and automatic braking for emergency. It my first truck with it. It's pretty good system so far. The adaptive cruise control can see slower or stopped traffic and will respond very fast. It shows on the dash what the computers are seeing. It shows speed of other traffic in front of truck. Plus distance in feet and seconds. If his truck had the same system it probably would have stopped automatically before having crash.

I hope you don't completely rely on that technology in situations like this.
Depending on your speed, it does have a limited range.

No we don't really on it. It can help avoid a rear end accident. It can see the speed of the traffic and adjust. It reacts to the following distance. If is see slower traffic and driver doesn't do anything it will slow the truck.

The adaptive cruise control wil turn on jake brakes and slow truck Then it will apply the brakes to match the speed of other traffic. if the Jake brakes are not enough it will apply the brakes to match the speed. The adaptive cruise control is very fast to respond. Seem like they have improved the system from what heard about it in the past

If traffic is stopped and driver does nothing. It will apply the brakes and stop the truck.

If these dim-witted "professionals" would pay attention, they could apply their own #### brakes and stop the truck. If someone thinks they have better things to do than paying attention and not killing people, they should probably not be a "professional driver."

If it does ANYTHING, you weren't doing your job as a professional driver. The system is completely unnecessary IF you're paying attention. Once you get used to allowing the truck to drive for you, it'll be too late to do anything once you realize the system is malfunctioning...sensor goes bad, wire corrodes, etc...and you're already past the point of no return.

Be a professional, and drive your truck. Once you let the truck start driving for you, you're no longer a professional driver.

Just having it in there doesn’t mean every driver is relying on it.
    .
Most of us have air horns and I doubt very many drivers are blowing the horn all day long just because it’s there.

    Fabulous Maximus Thanks this.
