Google isn't being very helpful for me today!
I also realize that what I'm asking for may not exist in an easy to use form.
I'm looking for a GPS that I can send destinations to remotely from the office. Our driver is not very technical and several times has gotten "lost" due to fat fingers in the address, or mistyping addresses such as 1234 West Northwest Street.
We're looking for a GPS unit that is a bit more robust and would allow us to remotely send him updated destinations. Due to the nature of our business, I can not preload destinations unfortunately. We've even had to change the destination mid-route a few times due to weather and other local conditions.
I'd go with a laptop/GPS Software and email, but dread the technical support questions I'd get with such a setup, although it's the leading best option so far. Price isn't really a factor, although anything over $1.5k will be harder to get approved.
Being able to send exact GPS Coordinates with information such as "Park next to this building with your nose pointed towards this street," or "park across these ten parking spots in this parking lot, " would be a HUGE bonus but probably impossible.
Thank you in advance for helping me make my driver's life, and mine, much easier.
Sending destination to GPS remotely

Hire a smarter driver.
blktop-bucanear Thanks this. -
Have you considered using qualcomm system ? The new ones now have touch screens and GPS maps on screen. http://www.qualcomm.com/products_services/mobile_content_services/location/gpsone.html
This is what most of the mega fleets are using. Not sure if it's in your price range but it is dummy proof. Unless they know nothing about technology.

smack him upside the head with an atlas--and tie a compass around his neck

Smacking and firing have both been discussed extensively. But he's the sort of person everyone likes so the second option is being deferred.
I'll check out Qualcomm - they do seem a bit overkill for a one truck, but if we can get the truck within a few blocks of it's destination, that'll be good enough.
Thank you all. -
get him a droid type phone and then text him the address, so he can click on it and then naviagate to it using the phone's navigation system, it doesnt have truck routes but maybe an alternate way of getting directions to him
-
Or get him a bigger gps unit for less fat fingering.
