Back when we were still hauling sludge in tankers....Reminds me of a time I was sitting in a backup guy next to me wanted to start "small talk" I was on phone with my hubby, who was getting really annoyed because I don't turn my CB off when I'm on the phone, I will turn it down but I can still hear, I use a bluetooth so no need to blast me. Well this guy, even though I asked to hold on a few minutes (not like we were going anywhere) he would not shut up! He kept on and wanted to know what we did when it rained since we can't get into fields to unload when it rains.....me being the wiseazz I am came back with we switch over to hauling milk....needless to say I now had to shut the CB off until I got the phone. That guy I think really believed me! Wonder if he drinks milk anymore? :angel12:

There is one of these companies just down the road for me and i have watched it grow from two to around 50 trucks! No bad, maybe I'm hauling the wrong stuff.

I,ve dipped the honey pots in my time, its really not that bad, tips: always wear gloves, wash hands often with soap, forget dating, and plan on never having people walk up to chat while working. At least it paid the Bill.

Local guy, when I was growing up he had stared shoveling out privies, was well known for saying 'the money doesn't stink'. It was said at lunch time he didn't bother to climb up out of the hole, just set the shovel aside & tuck his gloves in a pocket and commence eating lunch!

He also purchased a new Coupe DeVille every year!

im currently a septic tanker driver. not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. not easy locating, digging, inspecting, and pumping tanks. takes a lot more brain cells and TIGHT driving and backing than OTR.

    volvodriver01 and crb Thank this.

I've driven for a couple of local Septic companies, Sometimes not easy finding tanks and digging them up. You do back up into some really tight spots.

Up here in Fort Wayne, I heard a story about how they wouldn't hire any more C.R. England people with less then one, five? years.

He sort of "lost it" on the I-69. This last winter.
He couldn't "keep his ###### together". Had one heck of a mess along the freeway.

Could guys elaborate more on the job. I am very curious as I have seen people do it just not had a chance to go and ask questions.
