The catch to Commiefornia giving you a $60k grant, is that they take legal possession of your old smog emitting truck and it goes into the crusher, and you have to purchase a newer Post Emission truck.

Do you really think Commiefornia is going to give you something for nothing?

So why couldn’t someone go buy an old truck for $15,000 then sell it to California for $60,000 and have $45,000 towards their new truck they intended to purchase anyway? Do you have to live in California to get this grant?

Yes, you have to run a majority of your miles in Commiefornia and be base plated there.

You must live in California and have owned and operated your truck for previous 2 years in California. Majority of your miles must be in California i think 80-90% or something then you get to turn it in if you qualify can get 60k for new truck and 40k toward used truck. Used truck must be 2013 engine with less than 500k miles and must come with 1 year warranty. And they take and destroy your old truck

I guess if you could find a nice 3 yr old Truck with 300 k or so miles, for $60 k, net cost $15 k. Depending on the condition of your Truck.Id rather do that, take the $45 k and get a good used Truck.New ones = big pymts. Not for Me. Maybe you’re making the big bucks, and need the depreciation of a new Truck.
