I let my truck sit from december and now I cant start it.
Starter cranks the engine, but no fire. I used ether, but engine runs till ether lets, and stalls with no fuel.
I understand about check valve, but seems to me for more then three weeks fuel is back to tank and no fuel in pump and I cant pump it in with starter.
So I wanna add priming pump. What a point to add pump can you advice? before filter ore after?
Series 60 priming pump. Need advice

After the filter is how baby cummins isl lsc and isx IS mounted behind ecm mounting plate sounds like maybe have a bad pump of maybe bad fuel line sucking air should have picked up fuel by now

I really don't think it matters, unless the primer pump itself needs filtered fuel to protect the pump gears. I would install one somewhere it is easy to get too, thats all.

I have only one fuel filter, so I wanna add one more like on Volvo

If you have one filter it is a Davco and it has a check valve. That could have failed but the bowel would be empty, the cylinder head could drain even with a the check valve if there is air sucking into the system after the pump. I have an adapter that I put on the fuel pump outlet, it has a male female fitting with an adapter for an air connector. I have a wet tank air tank with two female couplings in it I fill it with fuel, and pressurise it to shop air pressure I have a hose with a ball valve I plug into the bottom of the tank, I connect the other end to the fitting I installed at the fuel pump. I worked on a lot of freightliners so I would get someone to look into the tank and watch till the air stopped coming from the return line. Get some to start it if it starts bogging down I added more fuel, holding it I knew when it was getting low, so I did not fill the system with air. I used that tank to get the early "E" Cats to start, Cummins Mercedes, just plug into the compucheck fitting and flush away.

I wanna add primary filter to catch water and bigger dirt in fuel, after that priming pump. It would be good to install all on frame rail with easy access with hood up.

pressurize the delivery fuel tank with compressed air. get a plastic funnel that will cover the tank opening, insert the air hose , apply air , and have someone crank the truck, mashing the fuel to the floor. this will start your truck. johnny
