Figured I'd update with some new info I reviewed today.
I'm set to attend orientation 10/2, I've been approved for D-seat, so I will be going through PSD, which is definitely a good thing since I haven't done a pre-trip or backed a trailer in 15 yrs.
I'm looking forward to getting started! I'm sure I'll have a lot of hurry up and wait since I already have my CDL-A.

Looking forward to seeing another TTR forum member there. Got the whole CDL program as well but I only have my Class B so it's a wild new world next week. Got my A permit already, all endorsements except hazmat as well. Figured that would ease up on my week some.
darthanubis and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
You can buy a plane ticket and Prime will reimburse the cost of the bus ticketdarthanubis, redoctober83 and 2500HDRob Thank this.

Say whaaa?
Let's back this truck up one second. I chose to fly and my recruiter said they nixed that option? Someone is getting a call in the morning just to double check. Was a good chunk of change to fly from my state to MO.
Thanks for the heads up. -
I know someone who took a flight from California on the the 11th of Oct for training on the 12th of oct. They were offered the price of the bus ticket reimbursement. So if they changed that rule they did it in the last 2 weeksdarthanubis and 2500HDRob Thank this.

Interesting. I definitely asked before the above dates. Hopefully it was just a miscommunication on their end.

Well that is also recruiting for you. Some do not know and go with NO rather than ask and find out. I would just call them and tell them you know someone who got reimbursed the cost of the bus ticket when they flew in..darthanubis Thanks this.

Looking forward to it, I'm planning on getting there early Sunday afternoon, see you there!

When I went to orientation I flew to the Salt Lake city terminal and they reimbursed me up to the cost of the bus ticket. Which in my case was like $10 less then the actual bus ticket, but it helped that I booked the flight a couple weeks in advance. The dog was going to take almost 3 days from Seattle to get to Salt Lake city. Instead it was a 2 hour flight.
Yes you should fly if you can. Sometimes it is very much worth the little extra so you don't have to sit on a bus for days.darthanubis and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
I took the bus, but wanted to split it up into 2 days. I used to live in Traverse City, MI, so ended up taking the bus to Chicago one day & spending time with my parents (my mother was not well at the time & passed away a few months later), then rode to Springfield a day later. Prime reimbursedme the cost of the single trip ticket price, but wouldn't do so until after completing orientation. By all means, if you can afford to provide your own transportation that's more convenient for you, do it.
