Id focus on just the day to day stuff that makes life on the road easier. never mind the TV and gaming and even the CB until he gets a few months under his belt. He may hate trucking or get fired.
A good phone mount, a (trucking) Bluetooth headset, a truckers GPS, charging cables (most modern trucks have regular outlets but also the cigarette lighter ones too), a small rechargeable flashlight, small office supply stuff ( tape, scissors, small stapler, highlighter, sharpie, calculator, pens etc) A broom for sweeping out trailer, a 4 cup coffee maker.
I use a tablet with unlimited data from verizon for watching video/internet. I have a tv but I rarely use it cause no real WiFi and you have to let it search channels everywhere you go. But you can get a lot of channels at times but then you have to flip through 90 channels to find something decent it’s too much trouble.
