Hello all,
I just got my single axle jeep and tridem 55ton RGN ready to roll.
1.Would like to know which states allow single axle jeeps and which don't.
2.Some states like MI for example one has to have all axles on the ground even thought you might now need them. E.g. if you have 75k gross weight even then you can't go thru the state without the rear axle off the ground( i have a rear axle lift on my 55ton RGN). Any other states which have a similar law?
3. Which states can you jump jeep?
I know i'm asking for a lot of info but i do not there a lot of knowledgeable guys on this forum and i see there help. Thank you in advance. Stay Safe.

Some of your questions are probably answered here: Jo Dog / Single Axle Jeep

Michigan is the land of the lift axles. You only need down what you need down. Not all axles.

We haul thru MI regularly and i was told by the MDOT permit department that if it's a loaded move all axles have to be on the ground irrespective of the weight. I had a 77,000 gross weight and had to put six axles on the ground while i needed only 5.
Not sure what other states have similar laws.

Now looking at my last Michigan Permit for 80k it does state “all air or lift axles on ground”
I stand corrected. -
I was not aware of Michigan being like that. I don’t haul up there much though. And last time I needed them all down anyhow. Wyoming and Utah and South Dakota are like that
