    I agree with these guys. You are a trainee. You aren't supposed to be a great driver. Your trainer was the problem, obviously. Nobody shifts perfectly when they are new. You will learn a lot by getting out there and just driving for a month of two. Come to think of it, I graduated first in my class at my trucking school. I seem to recall climbing a hill out west in a spring ride cabover with 300 horsepower hauling a heavy load at 14 miles / hour and missing a gear and coming to a dead stop . Of couse, when you're doing 14 vs stopped it's not much difference. Only happened once. Your trainer was severely unqualified. You might consider Crete. They send rookies out with a trainer for 8 weeks. Good luck. You'll be fine.
