Life skills in an Amish community would have been cooking, cleaning, raising children, vegetable gardening, etc. Schooling would most likely have stopped at 8th grade level for girls. A moment of braindeadness did her in.

 

No, you can't blame this on a moment. Doing something like this shows the lack of critical thinking and a total lack of proper decision making. This is deeply ingrained and is why some people are not cut out to be a trucker. The thing about all of this is there is no real process to cull people like this out until bonehead happens.

 

I guess "moment" wasn't the right word. The fact that she did not pay attention to the no truck sign, and others posted, proves she did not have the critical thinking skills to process the info and then to figure what to do to get out of the hotspot, ie calling the cops if nothing else. And some people do not need to be truck drivers.
