I have a question about the load strapping.......I never strap a load unless the customer requires it........you are saying that we should strap the loads in a trailer that has not been sealed already?

I would. If its not sealed I always look to see how it is loaded before I hook up to it. If it is not sealed yet you are responsible for the load. Better safe than sorry.

That is true Rodneylh, always better to protect yourself. If the trailer is not sealed and before you leave the shipper, look inside.. For me, it tells me if I need to strap it and where the load stops so that I can set tandems if need be, before I go scale the load, if need be. The problem with strapping the load and than sealing it, is when you drop n hook the load to consignee... they are not going to give your straps back...LOL I look at strapping the same way I do lifting belts, (used to protect your back). If you use them, you rely on them.. If you don't use them, you rely on yourself. Just a way for me to stay on my game, so to speak..

There's no need to throw a strap on every load. Just do it if the load looks unstable, like a bunch of small boxes on pallets and hardly any plastic wrap or anything that looks like it could fall over.

you can get straps at the shops, and if you need some on the road usx will pay you back for them.

most of the time i don't need straps for what we haul but if the load doesn't look safe i will strap it

if i don't get them back as a o/o i have to pay for them. and ya i've made them break the seal so i could get MY STRAPS out.
