    He is. Paying % after permit and escort cost is fairly common in the heavy haul world. 22% on a w2 is low, on 1099? Forget about it.

    When I started in a rollback hauling equipment and was at 25% to start, 27% in 3 months and capped out at 30% in a landoll within 6 months. 22% seems low and I believe I was a w-2

    May be they have a killer accessorial program or you could look at it as getting paid to learn a new kind of trucking. They take advantage of you, you take advantage of them.
    I still think the % deal on 1099 is a rip off unless they have rates higher than I've ever seen.
