If I had a nickel for every time I've should up at a shipper with either the wrong load number, booking number or pickup number, I could have retired by now. It's normal for loads that I deal with to have two separate booking numbers, one for the container release at the depot, that will only match for that, and then a different one for the load, which will match up for the actual paperwork at the port.

I think that with DL holding or copying it its a big BS. Yes check my DL, write my DL number down, check the exp dates and endorsements but why you have to hold it with bunch of other DL like UPS guards do all the time. They hold it untill you get back out of the property, and when i am done they are asking me wich one was mine from all, makes me so worry that there is a big chance of wrong giving out to somebody else. Or reading my address and making stupid comments about it, that is personal information that only law enforcement officers and facitilies can use because they are must to keep all the info safe. I wish somebody hire a lawyer and start suing those fake cops across the country.

You have to see their side cellnet....... like trucking, most rules are knee jerks off another bad situation and the rent a cops are just following orders. Teaks me off too but I created a solution......

In my truck I have a box of throw down goods like a cell phone, keys etc. And I have the duplicate license issued by my state ( no haz mat ) which is what security gets. Works 99% of the time.

Our other choice is to leave the facility and not load......which I have done.

Yup. They asked me and I started laughing and said absolutely not…it’s “our policy “they shouted. Policy doesn’t trump law. Go pound sand. They have everything they need already. I deliver a lot to Chicago and trust me when I say that these foreigners will steal ANYTHING to get loads. Don’t do it…… stand your ground drivers We’re better than this
