Shipper holding your license until your get the BOL?

I have yet to be so desperate as to create a poo bag... Amd I hope I never am.

 

I say no... I'll give them something else to hold if they want

Frickin Sunocos on the Ohio pike want to hold a card,, I Tell em "I'll PREPAY" They say their system isn't set up to do that. I give them an actual "Credit" card to hold tempoarily instead of my bank debit card- That way if they try foolishness- I can dispute any fraudulent TRANSACTIONS. I tell ya,People must think truckers are stupid

And I'll never use my debit card at a pump reader ..EVER!!

Theres another place that does it too A Chain of truckstops- I Think Pilot Flying J used to- But you can Prepay now

 

I give them an expired care from a closed account if they want to hold anything. if they run it through, it gets declined and I make a big deal about it, they get another card and it is paid for.

I had some ****** in NJ demand I give them the credit card I would use to fuel up a couple years back, he said his system isn't setup for pre-pay, which is BS. I gave it to him, I get my receipt and when I get my bill in the mail, it has $4890 worth of charges on it. That was the last time anyone got to hold an active card.

I had a driver call me about handing his license over until he got his BOL, he refused and I told him I'll back him on this decision - not a problem. So he called the company, told them he is refusing the load, they call me and I told them that personal info is not to be handed to the shipper unless it is a high value load and then it is only supposed to be copies and returned to the driver, that is our policy. So we didn't miss out on much, the company came up with a better load, almost twice the amount we were going to get for the first one and we put the shipper on a no haul list.

 

Don't know how your state works but with mine when I renew it they take the old one and destroy it. They won't give me my new one unless they have the old one.

Gotta love Louisiana. Is it true still no point system? Just pay fine and mone on.Used to get License @ 15 yrs old. Drinking age was 18 forever. Never had a problem When I Lived there. Rolled a car 6 times once when I was 21 yrs old. Reckless driving ticket $60 fine 0 points. I was a happy Camper!!! Got Lucky, Learned my Lesson too!! Quit drinking soon thereafter!! I must say I had some good times though!
