How did the shipper screw up?

Isn't it the drivers responsibility to get the truck loaded right?

Perhaps 2 months away from home turned into blurry thinking. The question now is, will it happen again?

I was 350 lbs over on the tandems one time heading into California. I had 50 lb bags of peat moss. So I took 7 bags out and put them on the top bunk in the sleeper. Now I was legal.

I know plenty of drivers who stay out 2-3 months and even longer by their choosing. The days of being forced to labor (do OTR) for months away from home are gone drivers. And those who choose to work like that should not be criticized or made to feel like an "idiot". Why are some incapable of accepting this? Like somehow the choices of others affects them.

But, when it's time to go home, it's time to go home.

When I first started going OTR, I put my stuff in storage, gave up my apartment and lived I the truck because I Wanted to be on the road to make money and see the country.

I didn't hear him complaining. I just understood it was his time to go home.

I stay out for extended periods myself. But when I'm due to head home then that's what I want, without delay

Based my thought on this line..."Haven't been home in 2 months, and I'm wasting a weekend doing nothing for no compensation"

Why would anybody want to stay out that long?
