When you have a safety guy working at a warehouse, he will sit behind a desk all day and invent things to justify his job. The worse I seen is when you have to drop the trailer and leave the property. They don't even want you around.

Looking at OSHA, there are about 85 forklift fatalities and 100,000 forklift injuries a year.

    Big Don Thanks this.

I always give them the key to my pickup. It says "Ford" on it, no one has ever looked.

What i like is when they ask you for your keys, then tell you they will call you on the CB when done.
DUH, my CB won't come on without the key turned to ACC or RUN.

Deliver to a nuclear facility and you will surrender your cell phone, laptop and anything else capable of taking pictures. You will also endure a very invasive search of your cab and sleeper berth area.

I fully understand the need for military, nuclear, etc. facilities to conduct an invasive cab search, and I would gladly give them all of my electronics. If a shipper/receiver is not military, and the shipment is not hazardous, however, they will not take my keys or electronic devices. For safety, they may lock my gladhands or ask me to disconnect from the trailer.

I understand the resentment however let us not forget one thing. It's their property and their company and they have something we want........ so since they have the gold, we must play by their rules.

When I was driving for Wal-Mart, I was making a delivery to a SAMs Club in Joliet, IL and the stockman unloading trucks told the guy next to me he was ready to go but he had actually ment to tell me. So when the guy pulled away he had the stockman and his fork lift still in his trailer. Luckily the guy in the trailer realized and didn't back his lift out. I know a place in Alabama that said they had an unloader die doing the same thing.
