Many in the lawn industry are switching to gas, because they run short distances, which is like the worst things for an emission diesel. I’m seeing more gas pickups pulling the campers out of Elkhart. Talking to one of the drivers, he said so many are having problems with diesels and they can’t really delete, anymore, with the EPA crackdowns. What gets me are the people still buying a diesel pickup for a daily driver. $10K-$13K more initial cost, higher fuel cost, higher maintenance cost, and an absolute roll of the dice for reliability.

The Ford dealer in town has a 2 year old F-250 diesel on the lot with 27k km on it. 6 figure sticker price :puke:

Only way I will ever touch a diesel pickup today will be if I restore an old Dodge with a 12 valve.

They're usually used by Denali owners or other upscale diesels because all the forums say the truck stop def will hurt the injector.

I had a water pump fail on the road years ago. Found an independent shop went in to talk to the shop boss. He told me he had the pump but was to busy to get it in. But he told me "if you know what your doing" then I was more than welcome to do it myself out in his lot. He points to a pan to drain the coolant into and say help your self.

We all have memories dealing all sorts of people. The good guys and the #####

We are fast approaching, if not there already, ‘the law of diminishing returns’.
The early years of pollution control devices did indeed have tremendous benefits for the dollars spent. As years are progressing, yes the air is cleaner, but that gain we see nowadays is less and less every year and the dollars spent increased greater than the gain that is sought.

We're already at that point. I'm refering to Canada here only because I'm aware of the data for here more than the US. In 2019 we produced 1.5% of the world's total emissions. Even if we managed to halve our emission output by 50% we made a total overall difference of 0.75%.

Now if we were to offer developing countries what was cutting edge technology for us 15-20 years ago at a reasonable cost I would wager that would have a far better effect on overall pollution on a global scale.

The way we're tackling the problem now is we're just pissing away money to make things less than 1% better overall.

Regardless of what the EPA is doing, the delete market is up and running just fine. You just have to know where to look. Delete that crap and you will save yourself big bucks

It was a rural truck repair place and the next nearest was well over an hour away which with no water pump....wasnt happening or of course the kenworth which had a 3 week wait...(stupid new mexico) so they knew they had me by the balls and were going to gouge me and likely "find" a bunch of other broken stuff.

I dont like going to shops for most things. Only time i do is when i gotta for whatever reason or when i want a maintaince record for whatever reason. That said ive also run into good folks who did help or try to help. Its a mixed bag sometimes.
