I had the drain plug brake off sitting in the fuel island at route 66 truck stop south of Joliet Illinois. I wanted an Italian beef and a Chicago hot dog. I was going to Ohio just beyond the indiana border south of 30.

Is this something a road service can fix?

That is strange, just to break off for no reason. Yeah, if the broken threads are still in there you or mechanic should be able to take an ez-out and back the broken threads out. Then if nothing else put a bolt/plug in its place to stop the leak temporarily.

    Good luck.

Get you a set something like this to keep in your truck. They are great to extract a broken fitting. In fact mine got me off the side of the road a couple months ago, had an air fitting break off similar to what happened with your drain fitting.

    ibcalm19 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Joliet has some real big pot holes. I went to church in the trailer chapel.

I was down a little on antifreeze. I didn't look down there.....
