Hello all,
Been having a vibration issue for what seems like since I've had the truck (5 years)
Already had a ton of parts replaced/ checked without any change.
Without getting into too much detail, can someone refer a semi truck shop that can do on vehicle wheel balancing? SPECIFICALLY ON VEHICLE. Preferably around Chicago or anywhere along 57 in IL. Maybe 24 through TN, or around Atlanta since that is where I usually drive. Or anywhere else you might know
Thank you
Shops that can do "on vehicle wheel balancing"?

Way off your lane, but Tow brothers in Amarillo if you happened to get through there.
I had a friend that had a mack up here, it had a vibration, he traded it to another friend that couldn't find it either, he took it to virginia and was hauling mail with it, balanced all tires, new and rebalanced tires, finally found a hub that was off center on the front drive. He wound up having the tires ground for that corner, but you had to leave those tires exactly like they were if you had to pull them for any reason. lol, He then traded it to another friend, ho traded it to a truck lot, I suspect somebody is still pulling their hair out on that one.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Rideandrepair, tmakt and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Seems like a machine shop could machine the wobble out of a hub.

Yes, its that spin machine I am referring to. Not necessarily meaning it balances too. Trying to simulate road speed while stationary to help isolate the vibration issue.
In the past 6 months I have new brake drums and shoes on the entire truck, 6 shocks, kingpins replaced, all 10 new tires Michelin steers Hankook drives, new steer wheels, new steer hub assemblies. Driveshaft completely rebuilt and balanced. Played around with centramatic balancers taking them on/ off, trying wheel weights instead, etc. Nothing has yet resulted in any change in vibration.
Even swapped all 8 drive tire/ wheels with my dads truck. No change.
When doing 70+ I'll throw it in neutral to disengage the engine from the transmission and vibration still exists. I also feel it around 35-40 mph
Can feel it in the floor, steering wheel, hood shakes, can see bottom edge of headlight output shake at night when drivingRideandrepair Thanks this. -
A buddy of mine who owns a small fleet referred me to this place several years ago. He sends all his rigs there and has for years. If you call and ask for Ronnie and tell him approximately when you can get thru there he probably will work you right in. They are good people and I don’t plan on going elsewhere for my 5 axle alignments.

Would be nice to purchase one that's undrilled so a machine shop can do it properly.OldeSkool and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Hubs aren’t too expensive. You must have a bent wheel or out of round tire. Easy to check yourself by spinning the wheel. Which I’m sure you have. Might be motor mounts, spring ( front or rear bushings) wheel bearing, Maybe camber is off. Hard to find a shop that adjusts camber, from what I’ve read i here. There’s a shop in Mo. or Kansas. Maybe, I read about on here a while back. Wish I had more info. But a search should find it. Someone posted a video of Shop Owner explaining camber adjustment.
OldeSkool Thanks this.
