Can anyone make money with short hauls? I talked to a recruiter and they only deliver in-state. Drivers are home everyday. They only do short hauls. Someone on here told me that short haul drivers don't make that much money, is that true? How is it likely to make $1500/week or more as a company driver? Thanks.

What company? Chances are they have drivers on TTR who can answer your question if they had more information.

Based upon what I done and the research of the space...it all dependent upon if you are an open air or enclosed carrier, how many vehicles can you ship at a time? Are you limited because of trailer size? Answers to these questions can help frame the amount you can charge an an owner operator...As well as what your boss chargers (if you work for a company) and how much they take off of what you are getting paid...

$1500 is about right for a decent line-haul run. You have to get the particulars, are there drops? is it time sensitive freight? Lots of variables in line-haul. Your time is your most valuable asset, make sure you are compensated for every hour unlike long haul where many hours are on your own dime

Local is probably the profitable thing you can do with a car hauler. But, you have to understand some rules otherwise its just labor. Also depends on how fast you load and unload. When I do local, I usually try to get two a day between 50-125 miles from origin,You must be preloaded with the first one.You will be workin your ### off
