Hi guys!
Im totally New here ! Really Love this Forum. I found myself ending up here every time I'm searching for something online
Awesome site !
Okay so I wanted to share my story and ask a few questions.
So, I got my CDL about a year ago ( February 2016 ) and I decided to go with SWIFT. They sent me with what they call a mentor. I was supposed to stay 6 weeks with him.
But it really didn't worked out for me and I ended up quitting after only 2 weeks.
THE PROBLEM WAS....I'm having hard HARD time staying with people for such a long time. I don't think I'm antisocial but I just can't stand be around people that long. my trainer was not a bad guy but he was just behind me 24/7 . I'm mean the guy was not even letting me eat by myself. So I didn't know what to do and I didn't wanted to be rude or anything....
I mean I really really love driving , and I love to be on my own , I'm kind of a loner which I thought trucking would be a perfect fit.
So yeah after i talked to one of my friends who's working for a small local company. He told me he was okay to take me with him for about 2 weeks and then be able to run on my own for his boss. So that's what I did I quit SWIFT to go there , thinking it was going to be easier. but It wasn't . I couldn't wait for these 2 weeks to end. I wanted to kill myself everyday.
Anyway I had to quit that place too after only a weeks on my own.
The reason was ... the owner was a psychopath! He made me ran from CA to GA and back in a really short period of time. The first week I did it , not knowing exactly what I was getting into ( I was really dumb, I confess)
the second week I refuse to run his ####ty load he then started threatened me. to not paying my previous week! He was Insulting me in his language over the phone. Telling me that every driver will love to work for that kind of money... bla-bla-bla ( he was giving me a flat rate of 1200/week which is indeed a Lot of money for a newbie )
But yeah after he finally paid me. I decided to stay away from trucking ...until now.
I really love driving. It's just I don't want to deal with shady small companies and I really have a problem teaming.
So my first question is :
DO YOU guys know a company with a shorter training program than the regular 5/6 Weeks ???
I heard TRANS AM have a 11 days training. Do they hire people from California ?
Also, I don't know if I should put on my resume that I worked for that stupid company, since they haven't even made me sign a contract (the only think I did was a drug test.)
Thank you in advance to all of you who had the patience to read my whole story lol
PEACE ✌️ ✌️

I skipped through a lot. Ok any company will be on your DAC report so any other company can see where you worked and what that employer pick on your DAC. Go to hireright get a copy to see what they put on it and go from there.
