Many carriers pay for your schooling with strings attached of course. You'll hve to use your judgement and find the compnies tht you think will suit you.The shortest contract I believe you'll find with any carrier is a one yr committmentYou won't get paid for schooling but once that is over and you now go out with a trainer, you'll receive more then likely a set salary during the entire training and then when you get qualified you'll get paid by the mile. You really have to be careful what carrier you choose.Listen to the folks on here.Only they know the real deal, not some recruiter with a rehearsed speech just to get you in so he/she gets a commission.

Do some research on the community colleges local to where you live, or at a reasonable commuting distance...most of these will offer tuition assistance which you may qualify for , and they will be able to walk you thru the process of applying for sometimes free money. You can stay at home , work a part time job if you want , and still get the training you want. Community colleges offer some great training too, most have a job placement capability after you finish.

I know most schools around me don’t accept FASFA. That’s because the classes aren’t long enough for them to except grants. Unless you went to the actual college and that seems to be a catch 22 as of recent. For instance, people doing months worth of classes, learning as much as they can, and when test day comes, no DOT or instructors show up. So you basically waisted months and money.
Although, I will say that is the case around my area. yeah there may be some schools in other states that are better off but not a lot of people have the expendable funds especially in today’s economy to forgo their current employment and go this route.
no I know the economy was a little different when you originally made this comment back in 2015 or whatever. But here at the end of 2020 that’s almost inoperable or unachievable.
