I had a shipper or receiver (I don't remember which, where I was, or when it was) I was at once ask me for my truck key.... so I gave him my spare.....
I did get it back, but I was not parting with it....FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
I have locked my keys in the truck , nope I did not call my boss, I paid for my own mistake . Why would you call your boss and say " I am a dumb ### and locked the keys in the truck " I have 3 keys , 1 in the ignition , 1 in my pocket , 1 hidden on the truck .

WITW is wrong with Volvo, aside from it not being American? By the same token, neither is Freightliner(being one of the brands in the Daimler Benz conglomerate, along with Western Star (I think)).....FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
An employer can handle it like my company does. Take it out of your safety bonus. Same with tickets and damage to the truck. They can withhold pay but they can not pay out your bonus.
We get one cent a mile for the year and that’s bumped to 2 cents if we have a totally clean year. That’s why I advise new drivers to pay for your own lock out, run out of fuel, get stuck ect. Your going to lose have your bonus and pay for it out of the remaining half. If you can afford it you might as well pay for it up front and keep your bonus.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
