So if you lose your key to your apartment do you expect the landlord to pay for the locksmith? I guess it's just the age of no responsibility.

Had some 4300 IH wreckers when the lock mechanism was going bad, if you slammed to door it tripped. Always had spare key, but relying on other guys to put them back was hard. Not to self never carry your lockout kit on the cab!

Carry a spare key, left the keys in , slammed the door in Maine, Friday afternoon, looked around, saw same truck model , asked if he would try it, bingo.

This is a problem easily avoided. Find a spot, mine was under the hood, to zip tie a spar key. Next time this happens you won't have to call anyone. Don't forget to put your spare back in it's hiding place.

Leaving the keys in the truck will get you in the office tomorrow morning with a shop steward and then a day or two off so I've never been in the habit of leaving them in the truck.

I locked myself out of my old Pete so many times it's almost funny. The #### door lock knob is right where your elbow hits it. 90s gm ignition keys fit the door lock perfectly.

Exactly! It what's wrong with a lot of our country any more......it's always someone else's fault.....

I can't understand why the OP asked the question in the first place.....of course it's his fault, he pays.

It's hell being as old as I am anymore, having been raised in a time when your word meant something, and you owned up to your faux pas.... Appears we raised a bunch of whiners in some cases though
