Mack has 5 key sets. So you have a one out of five chances. Not really bad odds.

Put an extra key in the engine around the oil dipstick most drivers dont do a pre trip so they will never find it

100% on the driver. I've had spare keys made for every truck that I've ever driven except for the very first one I drove, that I locked myself out of while stopping to wet a tire just west of Flagstaff, when it was snowing, in shorts and a tshirt with my phone and wallet inside the truck.

My very first load as a commercial driver delivered into a wind and snow storm near Chicago. Got out to open the trailer doors and back into the door, and the wind blew my door shut with the truck running, lights on, my wallet and cell phone inside. I blocked the dock for almost 4 hours until somebody could get there to open the door. Always carried a spare key after that in my pocket, and no longer drive POS Freightliners.

Why wouldn’t the driver pay for it ? The driver locked them in the truck the driver pays to get them out.

I swear there is no accountability anymore, everyone is the victim, it’s not my fault... :banghead:

Wasn't locked out of a truck but: Years ago, Christmas eve was washing out a trailer at the shop. Old T-duct floor after a load of tree's. Soaking wet, -5 outside, pulled the truck/trailer out, hit the door closer, locked everything up and the man door was locked. Office door locked, my dog staring at me, phone and key's inside. Found a chunk of metal and tried to pry the shop door open. Local cop going down the highway spot lighted me. At least when he got here i would be warm. Got the door pried open, key's dog and left. Saw the cop down the street and asked why he didn't come when he saw me. Said he saw my PU and figured whoever was breaking in was in more trouble than if he came down there. Always have key's with me everywhere.
