Should have gone to college

Rerun needs to be checked and censored. If he keeps his typical comments up, he should be removed and banned from this site. Just saying! I'm sure many more feel the way I do.

 

I just quit my desk job to drive LTL. I was pedaling glass and commercial storefronts and just couldn't stand talking to people on the phone anymore. I couldn't be happy with just sitting at my desk doing work with a keyboard, calculator, and a pen. I love trailers and diesel and my companies new t800 daycabs and I love driving. I don't work at one company, I work at 50 different companies (P&D city driver) and I love how my environment changes in ten minute intervals.

 

I did. Five years as "just" a USAF "fly boy" followed by 30 years as an airline pilot. I am still a young "60" and wanted to try my hand in this. As I said I have a lot of respect for what truckers have to learn and go through to be successful. It is not as easy as some folks think but I am giving it my all--however for some reason my reflexes are not as fast as they were!!! I realize I won't be able to do what you younger guys do but I want to learn to be as safe and professional as I can be.

We are all here for a common goal so no sense in putting each other down. We all hope to make a good living and hopefully live a happy life. I don't think it matters what we do as long as we kind happiness. All that matters is that you can look yourself in the mirror at an old age and know that you have no regrets.

 

I am brand new to this community so I am a wee apprehensive to wade into this argument. I will just say, with all due respect Rerun, it is my honest opinion that you're not just saying it the "way it is," you're being quite disrespectful and rude to other members here.

Petty name calling and being discourteous really only makes you look bad.

 

Take one thing into consideration - you may have a degree and have difficulty finding a job, but once you have that degree/education - NO ONE CAN TAKE IT FROM YOU!

A license on the other hand, is a priviledge; too many screw ups (or one big one) and it's gone....
