Doesn't sign on bonus mean the job sucks?

Don't know the salary of Linde Group. Most compressed gases companies pay pretty good though. Call and talk to someone there.
Since SC didn't work out, guess you'll just have to move to Las Vegas. Well, that's what I did anyway & no regrets.

More & more companies are offering sign-on bonus. Companies are fighting over high quality drivers.

I do not think I would like OTR or Team to be honest. I would love something rural and around open farm land. Was looking for a UPS Feeder job too, but was unable to find any postings on their site.

I think you have 3 options....

    1. Go OTR

    2. Move the HELL out of NYC

    3. Move the HELL out of the NE all together....

Because no matter where you go, your gonna hit traffic no matter what...if you work in the NE...unless you have some type of night time gig.

I've spent my whole career in the NE. Spent years making deliveries in the 5 boroughs, CT, all of Jersey, Philly, DE, Baltimore and DC and if you're looking for a stress free, easy type work with no traffic...it's NOT gonna happen in the NE. If you plan on staying in the NE, you WILL over time get use to this madhouse that we call the NE and just brush things off and just say...Meh...it is what it is. You'll sortta get a sixth sense of what is going to happen and build a tolerance to traffic and things you see on the road won't effect as much. Ever see that movie Commando with Arnold Schwarzenegger where he suits up and puts on war paint to get ready for battle...yeah, it can be like that sometimes in the NE. But it does get easier once you learn not to let all this get to you and brush things off like...

You see a car or truck going 90 mph on the TP...Meh.

Trucks driving in the left lane...Meh.

    Trucks stuck under bridges...Meh

Cars and trucks driving in the middle Lane going 55-60 mph with the flashers on...Meh

Cars and trucks on fire on the TP...hmmm...must be a Tuesday...

Cars and trucks trying to pass you on the right when it clearly says right lane will end in about 1-2 miles

People cutting you off, flipping the bird, yelling and screaming, honking the horn, pulling out guns (yeah I've seen this many times happen)...all in a rush to get to nowhere faster in the madhouse that is called the NE.

But if you're looking for a stress free type job, I'd pass up any type of City Driving type job such as LTL P&D. Linehaul would probably be a better option...that's IF you can find an LTL company in the NE that will won't start you off as a City Driver because these guys normally get first dibs on Linehaul. Either that...or find a Private Fleet that just distributes it's own products to they're own stores...such as Costco, Gocery outfits like Food Haulers/Wakefern/Shoprite, Grocery Haulers/Bimbo Bakeries/Baker's Express, etc. Either that...or move to Central PA towards Amish country where Cost of Living is practically nill and work for ACME Supermarkets or Milk Haulers like Dean Foods and enjoy the country life. Or just move out of the NE all together :D. Good luck.

i'm beginning to hate it too (daytime p+d that is, recently switched to linehaul).

i think Ryder may have daytime volume loads that may deliver regionally, which means you'll be out of the inner city for most of the time. You may have to travel from large city to large city, but that's better than being IN the city.........

Wadhams Enterprises has milk tanker jobs in your area I think. Rural, open farm land picking up raw milk at dairy farms.
