I did 21yrs package car at UPS. During a horrible divorce and custody battle I ###### that up also. Unless you find a job in one of their main hubs you will not get right in. My building it was 5yrs part time and then 4yrs progression. But every class A driver was making triple digits.
Go tank yanking ~ you can find a company your home every day and if you look hard you can definitely clear 80+ , push 100k if your over the road but again those are hard to find but out there -
Wadhams runs milk, a ltl division , and ARG their tanker division ~ all three hiringChinatown Thanks this.

Knowing the cost of living in the NE and especially anywhere around the dreaded Big Apple it seems to me $70k a year isn't all that great. I live in the middle of the country where costs are really low compared to up there (I have family up there) and I am on track to make that and perhaps a little more doing some training for my company and running the rest of the time on a percentage. The training does pay really well which is appropriate given the occasional "challenge" you get...lol
