Ok. I'm not sure what inter is. Just log the drop for 7 or 8 minutes even if it took you a hour. Don't give away your time unless your being payed for it. All Dot or log departments want to see is some time was accounted for. They don't decide how long it should take. You do.

I don't no what inter trip is. I guess it's people net lingo. Your dropping a trailer. Show 8 min or so for check in and post trip. Then drive and post trip your truck. Go off duty and find a beer and a good cheeseburger. Don't log that.

No such thing in the regs as a pre trip, post trip, or inner trip. All that is simply clarification wording. All the regs care about is an "inspection". You can call it whatever you want to, just make sure the LEO that is checking your logs understands it.
