Yeah I bought and sold my T600 not knowing what I had. Hey let me ask this. I know a friend who has a 125k C15 he is willing to sell me for $8,500. Do you think it would be a hard swap? Would it fit? What do you all think?
Thanks
Joe

The transmission may not be heavy enough to handle the C-15. Who knows what else would need to be changed. I'm sure the radiator is not big enough, and the exhaust is different. It would be cheaper to rebuild the C-12. Then you would know what you have.
-
YEAH, Without haveing done much with trucks before it's best to K.I.S. Rebuild or replace with the same equipment.
But first I make sure it has oil/filter and fire her up and see what happens.
Something happened at that shop (you will never know) but a truck dosn't go in for an lube then get towed outsomeone forgot to tighten the drain plug or forgot to put in the oil or the filter, it happens!
But with 1mill on the clock that C12 is just about due for a kit anyway.
Buy it I can't see a down side at all. -
That is what I am feeling too. I am going to look at it again tomorrow. I will find out what transmission it has, Axles and what ever else I can. At first I had trouble warming up to in. But it is so freaking clean inside. The interior looks new. Door panels and seats look perfect. I don't know why I am in love with big trucks. I don't even need one.

You were goin' Way too fast to be taking a picture with the door open like that.
Hope you didn't take that fence out.48Packard Thanks this. -
From the pics its a Eaton/Fuller10 speed. Being that its a short hood 9200i, you'd probably run into clearance issues trying to shoehorn a C15 in there. Best to stick to a C12.
-
Yeah I'm with you on the C12 KIS. Hey it's sort of off topic and this may be totally lame question but are there any newer style hood I could put on this thing to make it look nicer? Not so square.
Thanks -
No other hood. It is what it is. Here is the '95 IH 9200 I owned. People may disagree, but I don't think is was a bad looking truck. I think the 9400's are better looking, quiter, and easier to work on the engine, but for what they are asking, you can't go wrong if the rest of the truck is OK.
-
Hey, I don't know much but if you go switching engines and stuff around you will only have troubles, that looks to me to be an Ex-Walmart truck if it is it was very well taken care of, I'd check it out and throw a KIS kit in it and see what you have, then if it doesn"t work part it out you can double your money on the rears and the trans even with 1M miles on it there are shops looking to buy cores of all those items so they can rebuild them and sell them. Good Luck, keep us informed.
