    A cursory google search nets no recent negative information about the status of Rand McNally. They do mention the parent company, but all of that is old news, dating back to 2007. Since RM is a privately held company there is a lot of information that doesn't have to be released to the general public, good or bad. I believe we have a genuine troll on our hands.

    He is in reality a FSB dubble agent send by Poetin to take control off the high value truckers tablet market.
    :eek::rolleyes:

    It would be a good thing if that were to happen.
    Then maybe Rand Maps could finally be on a device that isn't junk

    I don't see the company dying off considering they make the road atlases sold at every truck stop. If anything they would rebrand but I don't see why they would need too. But I don't know what's going on with them.
    As far as the tablet gps. I ended up buying one cause my mentor had one and I really liked it. It had a nice large display that was very clear and bright.
    The features and navigation had been very good to me sofar and it comes with a Atlas on the device also. It has a nice magnetic stand that acts as a charging stand also. I did see someone gave the smaller older model and it was slightly cheaper and I thought the tablet was a better deal. Also I noticed his did not notify me if certain things on the road Wich isn't a huge deal but it's always good being notified of anything. Well maybe he had his set up a certain way, i honestly don't know. I know some of the gps do have different features. I seen a YouTube video discussing it. I would watch some YouTube reviews and make a decision. Personally I am happy with it but I would be more happy if it was free. Save your reward points and maybe you can get it for free.
