ok, I am looking for some companies in the Dallas / Ft Worth area now. I seen one that said, $23 hr with $2500 signing bonus. Should I look for hourly or miles pay? Should I look outside to another city or state?

thanks again for all of your time and feedback. I want to be a good trucker contributor one day also, so keep shedding insight to me.

I can practically garuntee that whatever buissness you get into without some real hands on experience, as an INVESTMENT, or otherwise is a recipe for failure !

Well do ya want to be home most nights/weekends or do ya want to stay out on the road for a month at a time?

I doubt you're going to land a local job that pays $23 an hour with no experience. If you can take it!

I don't need to be home. NO family or wife! just me, myself, and I. I can do whatever, whenever.

ok thanks, so hourly is a good way to go?

I don't know if it is a local job, or OTR but the sign is and warehouse is 10 min from me. It doesn't matter at this point, just want to get some experience. lol

Anybody have a step deck with 8' top deck? Any issues with clearance between trailer and truck?
