    No Recent Experience? No Problem.
We’ve pioneered the industry’s first “REFRESHER” program for drivers with NO RECENT EXPERIENCE, including drivers who have a CDL but didn’t attend truck driving school.

Some other factors of which you should be aware...

A lot of the CDL job ads I saw 12-15 months ago....are now gone.

Basically, the economy has slowed, and thus general freight volumes are down.

Consequently--carriers are getting more picky about who they hire; often, they will want more experience, and/or better qualified drivers.....than say, a year ago from the time of this writing.

Other drivers here on this Forum were furloughed...back during the holiday season.

Said furloughed drivers have A LOT more driving experience than you currently do.

Here in the last few months, some trucking companies have either totally gone out of business...or sold out to a bigger carrier.

All of the above is to help say....you may well have to work harder than earlier...to score that first CDL gig.

Thus--you need to do what you reasonably can--to stand out from the other applicants that have zero or minimal experience.

That's why I suggested....GO BACK, AND GET THAT HAZMAT ENDORSEMENT.

DOT Foods (mentioned above) is a terrific idea--but they have been known....even in good times....to be pretty picky.

If that (and the other) suggestions made here don't work out--try Swift (dry van)....and....if that one doesn't pan out....try Schneider next (dry van). Try Western Express as a very last resort.
