I have driven for 1 "outlaw" type company. Ran 3 years flatbed with a paper "lie" book. Now I'm attempting to find a job with a "real" company, and they keep asking me to email a picture of my license, so that they can run me through their insurance company. I suppose that makes sense, but couldn't they just run my dl#? Should I be worried about ID theft? Thanks in advance.

Their insurance company doesn't need your DL.

I have one on record after the driver accepts a job, everything from the MVR to the background check is done with a driver filling out an app.

That might want to see where you tip the scales at rather than wait until you arrive at first day of orientation to find you don't fit through the door, or perhaps have facial tattoos

Discrimination? Perhaps but good luck trying to prove it.

I'm 5'7" 160lbs. Lmao!!! And no face tats! I guess I could see that as a reason though.

Yeah I'm skeptical of even letting anyone see my license, let alone take a pic of it.

I would never do that. Tell that recruiter to get F’d and continue your search

I have never heard of this practice. Most places only want the basic information to do things "like" run your DAC etc etc. However once hired they are going to ask for your CDL and make a copy of it for your Qualification file. I have also had to sometime allow copies of my CDLto be made at some places where I got loaded. THIS was the primary reason I asked my home state to NOT use my SSAN as my drivers license number.

I would never do that. The Internet Email system is not secure. Not for us anyway.

I had a email go out one time that contained some pretty important information. The recipient was not the only one that got it. Others got to it as well. Next thing I knew I fought a battle on the identity and financial theft with the bank. We changed everything within the hour and by end of day isolated the damage permanently.

I strongly suggest you never do that. Sending important documents via email. If a company wants to get a look at you, they can #### well do it at Orientation.
