There are a few bad trk drivers not any different then the bad 4 wheelers.I doubt they're the reason for the 10 million lws we have. Its all about revenue. You're not going to get the bad drivers off the road no matter how many laws are enforced on the trucking industry.Alot of ppl have been doing this profession forever and just don't care anymore.Me on the other hand safety starts the very second I enter the trk or car. Many drivers are practicing safety but other people see it differently because they hate trks and want them off the road for good. What I say to that is fine by me hire planes trains ships to deliver your freight and see how long that last..Bergy I think you'll make a real good driver and who knows you might get some stupid 4 wheeler that'll turn you in and you wasn't doing anything wrong and whats bad is the company you drive for will take the 4wheelers side.Im almost to the point I want out because of the crap we are forced to deal with..

You gotta be kidding, or not know what you're looking at. The typical motorist who manages to find themselves behind the wheel of a semi obviously chooses to operate in a manner far more similar to 4-wheelers than different. Speeding and following too closely are nearly universal. They don't call them driving habits for nothing.

First it is quite common when running through cities to use the center lane after all very few 4 wheelers know what the acceleration lane is for, it makes like alot easier. As long as he is driving the speed limit and not under it he is not breaking any laws. As for other things yes lazy drivers often park at the fuel island and then go for dinner and a movie, or window shop the isles of the truckstop , the real febble minded will, sit there and do a whole days of paperwork after getting their order from McD's. There is a simple solution that the people at the truckstops have yet to wrap their heads around. We need drive thru windows, they will put them in for cars but truckers have to park up to go grab their burgers and fires. It is unjust, we truckers are being treated unfair with this. The 4 wheelers get to just drive right up get their orders and we cant. It is a double standard and we should not stand for it. :biggrin_2559:

The difference is that the truck driver was getting paid to drive well (and appearantly he wasn't) where as the 4 wheelers were not. It is the difference between the neighbor doing a favor and cleaning the snow off your walkway and the landscape company that you hired to do it, one is held to a much higher standard then the other.

And then she either went back to her soap opera, or maybe she called to say that someone complained, asked him what the story was, then accepted his excuse.

There are any number of legitimate reasons that he was in the left lane, and you don't know enough yet to have an opinion on the matter.

It is, of course, entirely possible that he was just DWS (Driving While Stupid), too. If the company gets enough calls about him, he's history.

And remember that there is no such thing as a "Professional Driver's License." It a COMMERCIAL Driver's License, it only means that he gets money for driving. Being a PROFESSIONAL driver is something entirely different.
