am i misinterpreting what i am reading? parking in/at a fuel island? blocking pumps to take a break? i've witnessed serious altercations over as much. it is enraging to be behind said action.it makes docile drivers maniacs to need to fuel but can't due to such happenings. surely you are not advocating the blocking of a pump for any reason at any time.
Should I expect more from a professional driver?

i am still just a wannabe, but have you ever been on the intrastate and had trucks going the speed limit riding side by side? that usually means that there is a state police car just up the road, they do know ahead of time because of the CB. they have also saved all the traffic behind them from having to pay speeding tickets. they sure saved me a time or two. so , no calling in on a driver is not the best way to handle it. if he runs a car off the road or hits something and keeps going, thats different. most of these guys are like me and have families at home that they gotta feed. causing them to risk losing their jobs over being rude is just plain ridiculous. some have good reason for being rude. i worked as a security guard and checked trucks into and out of the factory. i have seen the way most are treated and having to wait all day on loads, then putting up with the typical ### hole yard dog operators. so yes if they are rude, inconsiderate, or just have the plain f@#! you attitude, that is why and i do understand it completely. like i said , im only a wannabe, but i have seen this first hand. HAVE A NICE DAY, GOOD BUDDY!!
missjhawk Thanks this. -
as far as the driver holding the lane you wasn't their before and u didn't see nothing u just no he was riding in hammer lane. u did not care to think of all the cinereous that could have happen. did you ever think this driver was being courteous like you would have everyone to believe you are. he got over letting a 4 wheeler in and that 4 wheeler chose to ride beside him and the driver lost sight of the car in A BLIND SPOT and almost come over on the 4 wheeler. his nerves could have been shot from drivers like yourself tailgating him. so he was being extra cautious. but u decide to be the big bad bold non-want a be trucker and call in on him and make his day worse. and you wonder why sometimes the patient run out of patients and don't give yall 4 wheelers any slack. because the 4 wheeler don't give us any. my suggestion to keep your day job and leave trucking profession alone we don't need drivers like you. if it is not life threating you should have never called in on that driver. when he felt safe he would have got over. 4 WHEELERS DO LIKE TO CUT US OFF AS SOON AS WE POP OUR FLASHER

Yesterday I called the manager over at a restaurant. You could tell he was bracing himself for a complaint, but I outlined why I thought his server should get a raise. I told him he should treat them well or I'd hire them away. (said complimentary, not threateningly) -
I'm sure there might be a reason at some point in time, for some odd reason.
In general however, no.
I always try to pull forward of the pump before going in for the shower and meal and NASCAR race. -
We should stroke their little head as the Vet puts them in a better place. Burn their log book, then go have a happy meal. You don't turn a class 8 truck loose with an Idiot.

In my humble opinion, people who are good at their job should keep their job, and get raises. People bad at their jobs should lose their jobs. If this isn't what America is about, maybe I'm in the wrong place.Last edited: Feb 4, 2014

At the pump I'll pull into the 'pay line' to get a coffee or a hot dog. If I'm going to block someone I'll be leaving before they finish fueling.
Some people are different, but not very often in my experience.
But it is getting more difficult, what with the 30 minute break rule.
It is much harder to find a space after dark. And if we are forced to park it for 30 minutes the fuel lane might be the only option.
Personally, I try to find a Walmart for my 30.
