I was only a pup years ago when this happened. We were ridin across 40 westbound between OKC and Amarillo. Unc had ol BIG MABEL out in the left lane cutting a pretty good clip. I heard him say #$#$% what does this idiot want as he hit the shoulder. As he pulled the brake I seen the flashing lights he looked at me said won't take but a minute to explain to him exactly who he is dealing with. At this point I'm wondering what life in prison is like for a 10 year old lol. The trooper and him met about the truck duals. I heard the trooper say Boy whatb in the world dom you think you were doing. Unc's reply was just what the dang sign back there said to do. To which the trooper replied, The sign says speed limit 55. Unc never missed a beat when he said well to be honest I missed that one the one I seen said slower traffic keep right. Since I was going faster than everybody else I had her out in the left lane.
Trooper kinda giggled said Slow Poke have a good day.
Should I expect more from a professional driver?

Bergy, Bergy, Bergy, Cmon man, is this how you want to start out as a truck driver -
Is this what "Trucking" is like now? Calling company's to complain about other drivers --who by the way wasn't even breaking a law.
Bergy do you want someone calling in on you when you have a moment of bad judgement.
Those of you that believe that you should make "calls" on other drivers should be ashamed of yourselves.
Dont you all have enough problems out there from all the other sources.
You should all think twice before you "snitch" on another driver, it had better be some great extreme before you turn in another driver for something --and even then? -
I'll do it a heart beat hang-man....if I see a driver doing something that could/would cause an accident you bet I will...drinking/weaving across the center lane/tailgating/texting..etc. I won't waste time calling his boss , I'm calling the law. We're talking extremes now though...as far as the little stuff like bergy was talking about , I'll just try and get around safely or just hang back and be careful....but we must help police ourselves from time to time when necessary.

Regarding the fundamental issue of the thread, whether or not you should call in and report a driver, IMHO it would be something to be done if a driver is doing something dangerous, like tail gating and overly aggressive driving (especially if tail gating cars). I've never reported a trucker, generally too busy while I'm driving. I'd have reported that truck in a heartbeat that tried to pass me on northbound I-95 next to Walker Lake... on a blind curve with a truck coming southbound... came VERY close to wiping out three trucks... but he got his just desserts shortly after that when I saw him pulled over by a NHP and Sheriff. Frankly, I don't think his particular company would have cared if someone called to complain.bergy Thanks this. -
Extremes "yes" - fuel islands, driving slow in the fast lane ?
Scenario: Bergy gets CDl, one week out on his own and someone call's on his "BAD" driving, going slow in the fast lane, blocking fuel island, a little lane wandering, going 27 in a 25 zone, loose load strap, what ever-- he would probably be fired.
I am just asking you all to think about it for a minute!
"What makes you laugh can make you cry" !
By the way which of you thinks that you didn't do any of the listed above --and if you didn't you will.bergy Thanks this. -
Anyway gang, Mr Bergy is a good hand. His mind is in the right place.Tonythetruckerdude, spyder7723 and bergy Thank this. -

Your job, if you get one driving, is to be the best driver you can be. If you must call in other drivers... do so when you have to to remove a real danger to others. You are not the gold standard by which to judge everyone else. You're just one driver among millions, each with their own talents and abilities and skills. Each living a life - and having good and bad days - just as you will. YOU will make mistakes. YOU will probably eventually make almost every mistake you're critical of others for making.
So, have a little humility, stop whining about how bad everyone else is around you, and start focusing on making sure YOU are who and what you want to be. And unless it is necessary to save life and limb, leave the rest alone to wrestle their own problems. -
These are words to live by, not just in trucking but in life.Figgy Thanks this. -
was he actually standing there eating or was in his truck sitting there in front of you me personally if he was just standing there I would of really been pissed and probably ran over him lol j/k but there isn't much you could do about an inconsiderate driver parked in front of ya
