I had a weather one I lent to my father to use in his truck, the weather channels were fantastic, then the weather just stopped working, same truck, same antenna, same coax. I get static on all channels, everything else works, just not the weather, don't now the deal with that though.

but it was great when it was working.
IT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE! Especially with winter not far off.
That is about the only time I would turn mine on. During bad weather and at a shipper or receiver if they required it. To much trash on there for me to run with it on all of the time.

I agree a CB is a must... I will roll without my xm radio before I roll without my cb... I have the volume turned down when I am rolling along... but when I see a traffic back up I turn it up and find out what is goin on ahead... which often gives me plenty of time to get in the open lane... you know, if there is an accident up ahead and I need to be in the far left lane or such..
Also for road conditions, and such.. I may go days without ever needing it or using it.. but when I do need to I am glad I got one...

If your truck doesn't have a weather radio built in to the am/fm radio, yes. I was just thinking the other night how awesome the NOAA weather radio is. Accurate forcasts and alerts, completely free of charge anytime, anywhere in the country. Definitely one thing the government has done right imo.

Apd, allniter and hal380 Thank this.

The first time you hear about a collision that's on the side of the road, around a blind curve, and KNOW to be in the OTHER lane, your cb will have paid for itself.

Anyone know if it's normal for the cobra 29 to kick over to weather randomly?
