Why did you quit after only 3 runs?If trucking is what you really wanna do you can't just quit.I say give it another chance only this time don't let the company get the best of you.Be strong and get out there and show the company what you can do.
razor1 Thanks this. -
Thanks CAXPT and pattyj.
I could explain to you why I quit that job 5 years ago, but it would take 4 paragraphs. My last run was a day from hell. The company was pissed when i quit. I have been preparing myself mentally for the worst now, so nothing will stop me. -
Companies require 10 years of employment history...don't get booted for leaving out an employer. Should you try again? It depends. If you quit due to lifestyle reasons, trucking hasn't changed so the lifestyle hasn't changed. If the company lied and you quit, then there are other companies out there.
Flatbedding is a different set of issues. It is physically harder, and if you are new you are probably slower at it. Being slow can put pressure on delivery times which could make you hate the job. Try dry van if the stress was too much. Once you figure out how to deliver on time, you can switch to flatbedding if you want the bigger bucks.
You got to look at the reasons you left and see of any of those are different that your last time.
Good luck with your dexision.

Thanks, Roadrealtor. Did not quit because of lifestyle, and I will stay away from flatbed, because I think you are exactly right in your post. Dry van is what I'm planning. Now I need to find a good dry van company to work for for six months...

If you have been working consistently for the last ten years, and that flatbed company did not give you a black mark on the DAC, then it sounds like you should be able to get in.
Six months and then into a sweet local deal is very lucky. Even if you don't get home but once in those six months it will still be a great deal.
Hopefully it comes true for you and is not just recruiter BS.

Pmracing, It's a legit job doing two runs a day to Chicago from Milwaukee. Know a guy who works there.
So I ordered my DAC report tonight...If a company gives a "black mark", does that mean you are no company will hire me? Can they give you a black mark for just quitting? I didn't do anything wrong, except piss them off. When I quit it was partly company fault, partly my fault (being new) and partly neither of our faults. -
Maybe in six months they might be done with that milwaukee construction on 94... hehehe
