however 2 things
1) your new employer only has to try and contact the former employer
2) if that flatbed company is out of business now, the only thing that CAN SHOW UP, on a DAC report is that you did work there, and NO OTHER INFORMATION about you..!!!
it may, or may not list the dates you worked there.
in fact, just now, i checked my last DAC report. there is indeed a company i worked for that is out of business. they (DAC) can only list them as an employer, and the dates of employment.....NO OTHER INFORMATION about me...!!!!
go ahead, get your refresher, do well there, blow it out, and get driving again..
very best of luck to you and your family.>!!razor1 Thanks this. -
If you got the full report and everything else you can on this one free one you'll see everything they see. Credit report, criminal report etc.. If any companies have done a check on you, ask for a copy of the report they got. If you don't agree with something, first find out what the employer meant by reporting something. For instance, any incidents/accidents of a workman's comp nature may appear as an incident non-reportable not in a DOT approved format. Find out before the hopeful employer does. If you see a number of incidents that are not reportable, they MAY assume they are non-reportable vehicle accidents, and just dismiss you out of hand. These kinds of listings require the prospective employer to call to find out, because they aren't listed with any particulars.
Because of this, some employers may just pass you up. If you list it, with an explanation of what it was, and then they see it on the report, you have saved them the trouble and misinterpretation of the reasons. The one's that won't call or be bothered, you may not want to be part of anyway. Not everyone reports on the DAC appropriately, and so you have to be aware of these ahead of time. Unless you jump jobs multiple times in a year, it shouldn't cost you anything to keep abreast of your DAC information.

Gizmo_man and CAXPT: Thanks for input! The flatbed company I worked for is still in business, FYI. Since learning about the DAC report last night I have researched it greatly and am shocked at some of the stories from people. Companies seem to fabricate things on DAC at times, as a form of revenge. I can't wait to see what mine states. I simply quit after doing three runs. Did not abandon truck or get in accident etc. I did have a weight violation, on top of many other ridiculous things, my last run.
HireRight said it will take 15 days to get report. Now i'm wondering if I should wait to take the refresher course until I see my DAC...advice?? -

If it didn't work out the first time, why do you think the second time will be different? Truckings only gotten worse since 07. If you didn't like it then, you'll hate it now.
